THF Advisory and Support Services features participation of NHS-registered dieticians and ‘Black Mental Health’ specialists to provide intervallic consultations with members of Lewisham residents of African/Caribbean descent, with general and non-medical health queries to maintain wellbeing. Based on the advice received, our key service users will be referred to community-based health professionals (our partners) to further engage collaborative sessions and activities that promote physical and mental health and wellbeing. Sessions will also feature health practitioners who offer expert insight to Lewisham residents on the importance of exercise and nutrition for optimum health. Delivery of all sessions will take into account any newly arising Covid-19 guidelines as may be appropriate.
More than 11,000 people sleep rough on the streets of London every year. They come from every walk of life, and many of them want to find work (StreetsofLondon.org.uk). Hawkeye is dedicated to working with a number of Community Partners on a monthly basis via our Feed The Need initiative where we engage Clothing and Food engagement runs to provide for the Homeless and Rough Sleepers in London. Our ‘Feed the Need’, initiative achieves long-term community cohesion working in partnership with other organisations such as Good Vibes Jerk Centre in Deptford to deliver hot home-cooked meals and community clothing donations our key beneficiaries, achieving significant reduction in the numbers of rough sleepers low income families adversely affected by their circumstances, particularly at the onset of and throughout the Covid-19 Pandemic.
